RAD High Courses
Specifically for ‘high school’ aged individuals who wish to further their knowledge and practice of contemporary art. These courses offer real world experiences with opportunities to meet and work with practising artists. They are designed to challenge perceptions of what art looks like, how it is made and the value of experimentation in finding new ways of working.

Course Info:

  • 13-18 year olds
  • Once a week – Tuesdays
  • Duration: 9 weeks of the school term
  • Times: 4.00- 5.30pm

Fees: $250 (inclusive of GST)


We Provide:

  • Learning about the development of contemporary art in NZ and the various artists it involves
  • Opportunities for exciting collabs
  • Development of individual working portfolios
  • Meeting, viewing artworks and working with various guest, practising artists
  • Exhibition opportunities
  • Access to unique art materials including items for re-purpose and ‘found objects’
  • Tuition on how to use various materials with self directed freedom for making artworks
  • Opportunities for young artists to meet new people and socialise
  • An introduction to a variety of artforms and styles such as: conceptual art, painting with various mediums, contemporary sculpture, assemblage, collage, contemporary jewellery and ornaments, claywork and textiles

Young artists may sign themselves in and out of the course each week without the need for parents to accompany them into the building if this option is ticked at time of booking.
